Gateshead FC has signed 22-year-old forward David Eguaibor from Scottish League One side Cove Rangers. The Irish-Nigerian striker joins The Heed for his first season in English football after departing Scotland in June 2026.
Eguaibor made 42 appearances for Cove Rangers during the 2025/26 campaign, scoring 11 goals in his first season of full-time football after joining from Irish side Cobh Ramblers. He will wear shirt number 27 in manager Lee Cattermole's squad.
Eguaibor's first words
"I couldn't wait to get in," Eguaibor said of the move. "When I went to Scotland, I learned a lot. I learned fast as well, and hopefully I can bring that here, score goals and get regular game time as well. I can't wait to get started – I just want to come in, score goals and work hard."
The signing is subject to international clearance.
