Paul Dobson: Gateshead FC Striker Dies Aged 63

Paul Dobson, one of Gateshead FC's greatest goalscorers, has died at the age of 63.

Dobson arrived at Gateshead FC on loan from Darlington in February 1993 and quickly became a fan favourite. His prolific finishing in front of goal made him a standout player for the club during the mid-1990s.

Golden Boot Success

The striker netted 25 goals in consecutive seasons, winning the National League Golden Boot in both 1994 and 1995. This achievement made him only the fourth player in National League history to win the award in back-to-back seasons.

Later Career

Dobson departed Gateshead in November 1995, joining Bishop Auckland for a transfer fee of £3,500.
