Rob Ramshaw will return to face Gateshead FC in a testimonial match on Saturday, 1 August at 3pm, with Spennymoor Town providing the opposition. The final pre-season fixture will see the midfielder appear against the club where he made over 100 appearances between 2013 and 2016.
Ramshaw's Gateshead Years
Ramshaw played a key role in Gateshead's squad that reached the 2014 National League play-off final at Wembley Stadium during his successful three-year spell on Tyneside.
Since joining Spennymoor Town in summer 2016, Ramshaw has made almost 450 appearances and scored 56 goals. He helped guide The Moors to promotion to the National League North with a goal in the 2017 play-off final against Stourbridge, and later reached the 2019 National League North play-off final.
Charity Focus
All proceeds from the testimonial match and a Golf Day at Beamish Park Golf Club on Sunday, 6 September will be donated to St Cuthbert's Hospice and Willow Burn Hospice.
Ramshaw explained the choice of charities: "St Cuthbert's Hospice cared for my Grandma Margaret, and Willow Burn Hospice cared for my Granda Fred. My family will always be grateful for the kindness, compassion, and support they showed us during such difficult times."
He added: "Both charities do incredible work every single day, and without donations they simply wouldn't be able to continue providing the care that so many families rely on. The football match and the golf day aren't about me; they're about raising as much money as possible for two truly amazing causes."
